One of the most active volcanoes on Earth, erupting nearly continuously from 1983 to 2018. The 2018 eruption destroyed 700+ homes and created 875 acres of new land. Home of Pele in Hawaiian mythology. Produces basaltic lava flows rather than explosive eruptions.
