Supervolcanoes: Could One End Civilization?

A supervolcano eruption would be 1,000x larger than a normal eruption. Yellowstone, Campi Flegrei, and Toba are the most watched. Toba erupted 74,000 years ago, possibly reducing human population to 10,000.

Yellowstone has produced 3 super-eruptions in 2.1 million years. Campi Flegrei has 1.5 million people living inside its caldera near Naples. The probability is extremely low but the consequences would be global.
